The Ericsson Cradlepoint R920 (part number MA0x-0920-C7A-NA) is a ruggedized cellular router designed for agile, high-performance in-vehicle networking. This North American model features a Cat 7 LTE modem and Wi-Fi 6 for fast, reliable connectivity. The MA0x package is part of the NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan and is specifically configured for vehicle deployments, notably excluding an AC power supply and antennas to accommodate custom vehicle installs.
Mission-Critical Vehicle Engineering
- Integrated Bluetooth® 5.1 (BLE): The dedicated Bluetooth wireless technology allows the R920 to act as an IoT gateway. It can track Bluetooth-tagged assets (like expensive tools or medical kits) and communicate with telematics sensors (tire pressure, engine diagnostics) within and around the vehicle.
- Vibration-Proof USB Screw Lock: Standard USB cables often wiggle loose in moving vehicles. The R920 features a professional Locking USB 2.0 port with a threaded screw-hole. When used with compatible extensibility cables, the connection is mechanically locked to the chassis to ensure zero downtime during high-vibration transit.
- Ignition Sensing GPIO: The included 3-meter GPIO cable features an integrated "Ignition Sense" wire. This allows the router to automatically power up when the engine starts and stay on for a programmed duration after the engine is killed, protecting your vehicle's battery from draining while ensuring data uploads complete.
- Heat & Impact Resistant: Built to survive the "Dashboard Greenhouse Effect," the R920 is rated for extreme temperatures (-30°C to 70°C) and is IP64-rated to resist dust and moisture common in field environments.

- Cat 7 LTE Performance: Optimized for fast data uploads (such as dashcam or bodycam footage) and reliable downloads for GPS mapping and dispatch.
- Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax): Provides a high-speed radius around the vehicle, allowing officers or technicians to stay connected on tablets or laptops up to 100 feet away from the truck.
- Private Cellular Ready: Supports CBRS (Band 48) for organizations running their own private LTE networks.
